Description
Our best selling kids quad
Our best selling kids quad for the past two years, and here’s why.
Firstly it’s electric, yes it’s the future, embrace it. It is an ideal first quad and we feel is suitable for 4 – 8 year olds (under parents supervision).
It’s a real quad not a toy, it’s a two man lift, has a wide wheel base and the speed is controlled by a separate key.
Why we at Motoworld like it?
Safest in its class:
Speed: The quad has two keys, the first, a keyed ignition switch makes sure they can use it without your permission, The second controls the speed, set it to the slow setting and the quads top speed is limited to 7km/h, medium setting is 15km/h and if switched to Fast the top speed is 25km/h.
The speed control switch is tucked away under the quad, both keys are different.  Put the control key away until you feel they ready for the next speed.
Fully enclosed footwells: are fitted as standard, these are normally associated with more expensive quads and are fitted as standard protecting the rider.
Disc Brakes: The quad is fitted with two ventilated disc brakes at the front and a single one at the rear, cabled brakes give the user complete control and feel when used.
Twist throttle: Motorcycle style, spring back twist throttle slows down the motor when released making it suitable for younger users.
Electric: Being electric, it runs silent, It has reverse and the key switch makes the speed parent only controlled. (petrol version has no reverse, top speed is higher and lowest speed is higher, its noisy).
Charging and battery life:
The Fox Mini Electric Fourtrax battery will last up to a week with a 4 year old at the slowest setting on flat ground and two or three hours with a 7 year old at the fast setting on steep rough terrain.
Disadvantages:
The battery runs down and it needs to be charged, it takes 6 hours to charge from empty to full.
Motoworld supply this quad fully built and tested. The battery will need charged before use. The charger stops charging when the battery is charged.
Safety gear:
A proper fitting scooter or motorcycle helmet should be worn at all times with a neck brace if the helmet is over 1kg. A pair of gloves to keep wee hands warm is also essential.
