The DIABLO Trademark represents the excellence of the Pirelli Brand in the motorcycle tyre industry. The Diablo family has rapidly evolved from its 2002 introduction in the supersport segment to cover many other market segments from Racing to Hypersport. The current Diablo Trademark consolidates 13 years of experience, technology and victories in prestigious tests and competitions. A consistent choice as original equipment by top bike manufacturers, all Diablo marked products are considered a reference by the most acclaimed international magazines. From this history and rich background is born the new DIABLO ROSSO III. The tread pattern of the new DIABLO ROSSO™ III derives directly from that of the well-known and highly regarded competition tyre DIABLO™ Supercorsa. Pirelli considered it important to maintain the grooves with the distinctive “flash” pattern on the tread as an expression of competitiveness. The tread design proves highly effective for water dispersal making the DIABLO ROSSO™ III an extremely safe and high performing tyre in the wet. The rear tyre is bi-compound with the profile divided in a proportion of 40-20-40%. The high performance side compound with 100% silica formulation covers a total of 80% of the entire tread. The remaining 20% in the central section is made up of a compound functional to stability and mileage. DIABLO ROSSO™ III greatly improves handling, absolute grip and performance in the wet, to guarantee lasting and consistent performance for the whole lifecycle of the tyre. DIABLO ROSSO™ III presents new profiles, materials of the latest generation, an innovative structure, new compounds and a tread pattern that is derived directly from that of the DIABLO™ Supercorsa.
Top mileage TOURANCE™ NEXT features a dual-compound tread layout whose specifications derive directly from the expertise gained in developing Metzeler’s renowned sport touring tyres. The two main project goals have concerned the supremacy in wet performance and mileage. This combination was the initial step to obtain a new generation of compounds, whose top performance have been reached through Metzeler’s patented mixing process, capable to obtain an unmatched level of homogeneity of the components dispersed in the polymeric matrix, contributing to tyre durability and wear regularity. Grip on all kind of asphalt To achieve the best wet performance in the Enduro Street segment, including critical conditions like wet cornering grip and panic braking, Metzeler designed a blend of high dispersion silica, high-performance synthetic polymers mixed with proper resins and plastifying agents. The rear sizes of TOURANCE™ NEXT adopt a dual compound solution, where the central stripe is approximately 40mm wide, to fully include the footprint area during straight up riding, and features a 50% content of silica and carbon black specifically developed to optimize mileage and power traction. Side compound is a 100% silica which ensures maximized chemical grip on wet surfaces and grip for cornering and traction in all the other conditions. The front sizes are made of a high silica content (>50%) blended with different typologies of polymers and resins whose recipe provides remarkable handling and both braking and cornering grip. The tread pattern layout ensures that full silica compound is available as soon as the trajectory tips from straight into lean, providing great confidence of riding and safety feeling. Stability in all conditions TOURANCE™ NEXT front tyres feature a high stiffness structure made of rayon fibers ensuring stability, even at high speed, and when fully loaded with luggage and a passenger. Rear TOURANCE™ NEXT features Interact™ technology with a three zones variable tension layout, providing a predictable riding behavior, and enabling a remarkable sporty capability. The specific structure maximizes lateral support and trajectory precision during cornering; the benefit for the end user is a remarkable handling along with enhanced stability. The Interact™ technology is capable to enable all benefits of dual compound technology, since the transition between the different compounds is mitigated by the variable stiffness of the carcass below, conveying a progressiveness in tyre’s response. Stability in all conditions The profiles of TOURANCE™ NEXT have been developed along with the structure to maximize its street and touring oriented behavior. TOURANCE™ NEXT’s profile is rounded in the half-lean portion, and flatter toward the center. Sidewalls feature a more rounded profile that coupled with a stiffer internal structure lends an improved damping capacity aimed to improve the riding comfort, the shock absorption when challenged on dirt roads and most importantly the coupling with ABS systems, whose pulsating effect needs a proper absorption of the forces by the tyre to enhance the anti-lockup effect.
